I use these with the foam pads. I am a Dylusions fan! It works perfectly! I was just trying to use other foams like sponge bits or makeup sponges and my stenciling was oozing everywhere and making a big mess. These foam pads are GREAT! Much better application and more consistent. Definitely get the foam pads!
